Rayat Shikshan Sanstha is one of the largest educational institutions in Asia. It was founded in 1919 by Late Padmbhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, who worked with the noble aim of integrating socially and economically underprivileged communities into the mainstream through education. In recognition of his immense contribution to the field of education, the Government of India honoured him with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. Currently, Rayat Shikshan Sanstha operates an impressive network of 751 branches, which includes 42 colleges, 441 secondary schools, 7 training colleges, 52 primary schools (24 of which are English-medium), 42 pre-primary schools (28 English-medium), 91 hostels, 7 administrative offices, 8 Ashramshalas, 3 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), 52 ancillary branches, and one research institute. ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara is a State Public University established by the Government of Maharashtra on 27 October 2021 under RUSA 2.0, as per the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 and commenced its academic functioning on 3 November 2022. The University was formed based on the recommendation of the Project Approval Board of MHRD, New Delhi, and comprises Yashavantrao Chavan Institute of Science, Satara. (YCIS) as the lead college, along with Chhatrapati Shivaji College, Satara.(C.S.) and Dhananjayrao Gadgil College of Commerce, Satara.(DGCC) as constituent colleges. Recognized under UGC 2(f) with AISHE Code U-1258, the University follows an inherent multidisciplinary education and research (MERU) structure, offering CBCS-based lexible learning, interdisciplinary credits, skill development, internships and industry collaboration. The Department of Statistics was established in the year 1965, offering two major courses B.Sc in Statistics and M.Sc. in Statistics. Apart from degree programme Statistics department also offers diploma, advanced diploma, skill, value added, capsule and add on courses in various Statistical Software's.
